Corvette Racing Crew Chief, and a former Camp Anokijig camper himself, Dan Binks helped raise more than $43,500 for the nearby Plymouth, Wisconsin camp this weekend at Road America.
Fast approaching its tenth year, Binks’ auction sported nearly 60 racing-related items for attendees of the Road America Corvette Corral.
In addition to parts and artwork, this year’s crop even included one of the front wheels from the No. 63 Corvette C7.R at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, a commemorative 100 Wins trophy from Mobil 1 and a set of tires from Michelin.
Camp Anokijig hosts more than 1,000 campers between the ages of seven and 16 every summer. The kids at Camp Anokijig partake in traditional camp activities, such as swimming, archery and campfires, as well as leadership and outdoor education programs.
“I can’t say enough about the generosity of everyone who participated at this year’s auction,” Dan Binks said.
“It’s really encouraging to be able to improve the experience of our thousands of campers and the Anokijig staff.
“This means so much to me, my family and everyone at the camp.”
Binks says the funds raised will go towards a new ventilation system in the campground’s kitchen and dining commons.
