As the 2006 American Le Mans Series season approached, Risi Competizione was finalizing plans for new cars, engines, factory drivers, and technical support for a Ferrari 430 GT campaign.
But a ground-breaking decision by Guiseppe Risi who told the factory “to keep their cars” unless he could run on the right tires turned out to be a key factor in championship success. History shows it turned out to be a very smart decision by Risi.
